Two towable mixers set on a driveway, ready to pour.

How it works

Four steps, order to pour.

  1. Order

Price it on the site or call us. Tell us the amount, the mix and the address.

  2. We check access

We confirm the road miles, the time, and that a truck and trailer can get in.

  3. We bring it

We batch your concrete and set the mixer at a safe spot the truck can reach.

  4. You pour

The concrete goes from the mixer into your forms. Have the crew ready when we arrive.

Good to know

Where delivery ends, and what placement is.

  • Delivery ends at the setup point

We set the mixer at a safe spot the truck and trailer can reach. Moving the concrete from there into the forms is on you, unless placement is in your quote.

  • Placement options

When the mixer cannot reach the pour, we may bring a buggy, a conveyor, a pump or labor. Whether we can, and what it costs, depends on access, distance, gear, crew and the site.

Before we arrive

Have the site ready.

A truck and trailer need room and firm ground. Here is what we need to find when we pull up.

  • A safe, legal approach with room for the truck and trailer.
  • Firm ground that will hold the truck, the trailer and the mixers.
  • Clearance from buildings, overhead lines, trees, parked cars and anything else in the way.
  • A washout area you have approved, or washout service on the order.
  • Forms and crew ready before the scheduled arrival.

Common questions

The things people ask about concrete delivery, in case one of them is yours.

What is the minimum order?

The minimum order is ¼ yard.

Do you charge a short-load fee?

No. A small load is already built into the package price, so there is nothing extra on top.

Do you deliver?

Yes. Delivery is priced in three distance zones from our Rosharon plant. You can also tow a mixer from the plant yourself.

How much can Contender deliver at once?

Up to 3¾ yards in one run, using more than one 1¼-yard mixer. A bigger order can be scheduled as repeated loads.

Can you move the concrete into my backyard or forms?

A standard delivery ends at a safe spot the mixer can reach. Buggy, conveyor, pumping and placement help can be added when available. Each one is quoted separately.

What strength should I order?

We offer 3,500 PSI, 4,000 PSI and 5,000 PSI. We can give general guidance. If your job has an engineered or permitted mix spec, you must provide it.

Can I get concrete today?

Sometimes. Next-day service is often available. Ask by 2 pm for tomorrow. Every order has to be confirmed before it is scheduled.

Do you work Saturdays?

Yes, by appointment. Saturday work may carry an additional charge.

What should I have ready before the load arrives?

Three things, and the pour goes easier for each one:

  • The forms set and braced, with the base compacted.
  • A clear path for the truck, or a plan for the wheelbarrow.
  • Enough hands to move and screed it before it stiffens.

If any of them is in doubt, say so when you order.

How far do you deliver?

Anywhere within 20 miles of the plant by road, and the towns listed on the service area are the ones we go to most. Past that, ring (832) 533-3296 and ask.

Ready to price your concrete delivery?

Pick an amount and a mix. The price comes back on the page. Or call, and we will work it out with you.
